  • Does Baroka Funerals have cremation as an alternative to burial?
    Yes, we do offer cremation.
  • How much does your burial package cost?
    Baroka Memberships start at R80* per month. Please note that our packages are tailored to different age groups, and charges are assessed on an individual basis for each member.
  • How much is the joining fee?
    Baroka Funerals has no joining fee.
  • When does a membership lapse?
    After two months of missed premiums, the membership automatically lapses. The member will have a 30-day grace period to reinstate the membership without a waiting period.  Restart and reinstatement rule: The member will have a 30-day grace period after the membership has lapsed to reinstate it without a waiting period. However, if 30 days pass without reinstatement, the membership will restart with a new waiting period.
  • Do Baroka Funerals' funeral packages include groceries?
    No, however, for our esteemed membership holders, we provide grocery vouchers valued up to R3500 upon claim. These vouchers are redeemable at any supermarket of your choice.
  • Do I need to pay for body collection and storage if I'm located in an area where you don't have a branch?
    No, you won't incur any charges for body collection and storage as a Baroka Funerals member, regardless of your location nationwide. We ensure the deceased's body is collected and stored at no additional cost. With our extensive network of over 17 branches across South Africa and representation in all nine provinces, Baroka Funerals will arrange transportation as needed anywhere within South Africa.
  • Is Baroka Funerals registered?
    Yes, we are a registered financial service provider, FSP No: 49758, underwritten by Rand Mutual Assurance (RMA)
  • What happens if I miss a premium payment?
    If you miss a premium payment, it's essential to take action promptly. Any claims may be affected, so ensuring timely payments is crucial to prevent your membership from lapsing.
  • How long does it take for Baroka Funerals to pay out?
    At Baroka Funerals, we understand the importance of quick claim payouts. We commit to processing claims within 2-12 hours to ease the financial burden on grieving families during a difficult time.
  • Who can be my beneficiary?
    The beneficiary of your membership can be anyone over the age of 18. You have the flexibility to choose anyone you trust, whether it's a family member, friend, or colleague.
  • Can I claim cash if I don’t want a service?
    At the time of claim, Baroka membership contract holders have the choice to opt for Baroka Funerals to conduct the burial or request a cash payout.
  • Is there a cash back at Baroka Funerals?
    No, we do not give cash back.
  • Do you have an age limit at Baroka Funerals?
    Both the main member and the extended family are covered for up to 74 years.
  • Will my membership increase once my child turns 21?
    Yes, children are covered until their 21st or 25th birthday if they are full-time students or mentally or physically disabled. However, they can continue at the usual premium rate only if the member is still a student at a registered institution until their 25th birthday.
  • If I'm not a South African, can I take a cover with Baroka Funerals?
    Baroka Funerals extends its services to repatriates residing in South Africa. We offer a dedicated product tailored for foreign nationals living in the country. As long as the main member resides in South Africa, immediate family members both within and outside South Africa can be included in the coverage. Our SADC product also encompasses repatriation services for added peace of mind.
  • How many members can I add to my membership?
    You can add up to 21 dependents.
  • Can I pay for my monthly premiums in advance?
    Certainly, you have the option to pay your monthly premiums in advance, allowing you to plan ahead and ensure uninterrupted coverage.
  • Do Baroka Funerals covers include tombstone?
    Yes, as a supplementary benefit on all our service plans. - At Baroka Funerals, we understand the importance of commemorating your loved one with a lasting tribute. That's why we provide a diverse range of tombstone options, including full-sized tombstones, half-sized options, baby tombstones, and headstones. - To make the process easier for you, we offer a convenient 12-month payment option, ensuring affordability and flexibility during this time.

Our offerings include burial, cremation, repatriation, tombstones, and a variety of funeral-related solutions. - With our burial packages starting from just R80 per month, you gain access to a host of benefits. These include vouchers, caskets, family cars, assistance with cemetery setup, and much more. We strive to ensure that our services alleviate the burden on your family during a difficult time, providing compassionate support every step of the way.
  • How do i reset my Pin or Forgot Pin
    One the home page. click "Login to my Membership". Click "Forgot Pin" Enter your Membership number and OPT sent to the number registered with your membership. Your Pin will be shown on the screen and you can change it on your member information page when you login again page.
  • How to Register on the App?
    To register on the myBaroka App, follow these steps: 1. Have a membership with Baroka Funerals and receive a membership number. 2. On the home page, click "Login to my Membership" button, and then click "Activate Profile" button. 3. On the register tab, Enter the your membership number and click "Validate". 4. Get your OTP from the number you registered on your membership. 5. Generate password and enjoy Baroka Funerals Digital Experience.
  • How do i login to my policy?
    Use your Membership Number and your Pin you regenerated to login to your membership.
